STC Joins Other Universities and Research Institutions on Amici Curiae Brief in Federal Court of Appeals Case

Albuquerque, NM, October 16, 2009 - STC has joined several other universities and research institutions in an amicus curiae brief filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals in a case appealed from the U. S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research; and The President and Fellows of Harvard College v. Eli Lilly and Company. The U.S. Court of Appeals has granted a rehearing en banc of the case which concerns the written description doctrine. Other “friends of the court,” or amici curiae, on the brief are The Regents of the University of California, Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, The University of Texas System, University of Rochester, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, The Research Foundation of State University of New York, NDSU Research Foundation, and Research Corporation Technologies, Inc.
