Business/Research Background

Dr. White is the Interim Executive Vice President for Administration and professor of accounting in the Department of Accounting at UNM’s Anderson School of Management. Dr. White came to UNM Anderson in 1998. He holds both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Texas Tech University and a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University. Prior to entering academia, he worked in the tax department of the Fort Worth, Texas, office of Price Waterhouse.

Particular Knowledge and Skills

Dr. White’s research interests are in the areas of the impact of taxation on technology commercialization; technology commercialization and tax administration, family and individual tax policy; and ethical concerns in accounting. He has twice been recognized as the New Mexico Society of CPAs Accounting Educator of the Year and is a prior recipient of the Anderson School of Management’s Outstanding Service Award and the Anderson School’s Foundation Community Leadership Award. He was recognized as a “40 Under 40” business leader in 2006 by the New Mexico Business Weekly. Dr. White has served on numerous nonprofit and community committees and boards including the United Way, TVC Equity Capital Symposium, Easter Seals New Mexico, and the New Mexico State Society of CPAs. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Albuquerque Chapter of the New Mexico Society of CPAs.
