Dr. Pattichis is a professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico. He received his B.Sc. (high honors and special honors) in computer sciences (minor in EE) and a B.A. (high honors) in mathematics, an M.S.E. in electrical engineering, and a Ph.D. in computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Pattichis is the founding director of ECE’s image & video Processing and Communication Lab at UNM: http://ivpcl.unm.edu/. Furthermore, Dr. Pattichis has led the development of novel AM-FM representation models and methods that have been used in computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems in stroke ultrasound image analysis, brain image analysis, hysteroscopic image analysis, eye image analysis, biomedical signal analysis, and electron microscopy image analysis. In each application, a computer system reads and interprets the medical images automatically.
