Candice L. Owens
Managing Partner & Chief Operating Officer

Candice is a native of Northern California. She graduated magna cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was Senior Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Computer & High Technology Law Journal. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego.

Candice was the founder of The Owens Law Firm, P.C., a dedicated corporate and business law practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Prior to opening her own firm, Candice was an attorney and partner at Sommer, Udall, Sutin, Hardwick & Hyatt, P.A. in Santa Fe. In California, she worked at Cooley (Palo Alto) in the corporate securities group. In between law careers, Candice owned a boutique in downtown Santa Fe called “Miss Maybe”.

Candice is found most often in our New Mexico office, but regularly can be found in Seattle and New York. She is admitted to practice in New Mexico and California. Candice lives in Albuquerque with her husband, two daughters and family dog.

Seth Gardenswartz
Chief Innovation Officer

Seth graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he was a member of the International Law Review. Seth received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. He is the author of The Risk of Loss in Electronic Transactions as well as numerous blog posts and webinars on legal and marketing topics that commonly affect local merchants, restaurants, breweries and community marketplaces. He is licensed in New Mexico and Colorado. He has helped hundreds of startups and emerging technology entrepreneurs protect and build their brands.

Seth served as General Counsel and Chief Business Development Officer to Sevence, LLC. He acted as the Chief Revenue Officer from 2008 until 2012, doubling the company’s sales, and was primarily responsible for managing strategic partners in the health and beauty industry as well as initiating the company’s entry into additional markets. In 2015 he co-founded surefi, a proprietary technology that helps retailers grow and leverage their audience to increase sales. In addition to law, technology and local business Seth is a co-developer of a tech-flex office building, the Verge Fund, where many emerging technology companies are headquartered. Seth’s specialties include: trademarks, start-ups, contracts, payment systems, e-commerce, digital media, venture capital, human resources, real estate and general business management.

Seth lives in Albuquerque with his family and enjoys the outdoors and unique beauty of the mountain west. When not working, he can often be found on the trails and slope of New Mexico and Colorado.

Seth is licensed in New Mexico, Colorado and practices regularly in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.


Parking is free on site. Park on the north side of the Lobo Rainforest Building. Enter through the Lobo Rainforest Building Main Entrance under the Rainforest Ecosystem sign on the north side of the building.
