New serum expected to significantly impact beauty industry

Albuquerque, NM – August 7, 2019.  People will go to great lengths, including invasive medical procedures, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks. But the need for this may well be a thing of the past, thanks to K&K Biotech’s new serum. The soon-to-be-released product includes a new, patented molecule that was created at The University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Medicine.  K&K has signed an exclusive option agreement for the molecule with STC.UNM, the University’s technology-transfer and economic-development organization. Studies have shown that the molecule has anti-oxidant properties far superior to any cosmetic ingredients currently available to consumers and is non-toxic.

The company was founded in late 2018 by co-founders Dr. Kristina Trujillo, and Katie Uilk. Dr. Trujillo was a research assistant professor and biomedical researcher in UNM’s Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology for more than ten years. Katie Uilk has been handcrafting custom oil blends for various skin issues since 2013. The two combined their expertise to create a unique business model that combines biotech with consumer products.

“The effects we’ve seen in our testing have surpassed our expectations,” says Trujillo. “Through our own personal use, as well as objective data seen with at least 45 other individuals, the clinical results have been dramatic in diminishing the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles and stretch marks, and significantly improving the overall appearance of the skin.” The duo is working closely with a board-certified dermatologist, who feels this product may far surpass what is currently on the market for skin rejuvenation, skin appearance and other related cosmetic skin issues.

K&K Biotech recently closed on a $550,000 seed-funding round. The funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to launch this new breakthrough product nationwide.  “We’re putting a solid marketing plan in place, including professional photography to capture before and after photos,” continued Trujillo.  “Men and women in the greater Albuquerque area with deep wrinkles, acne scars or stretch marks have an unprecedented opportunity to participate in the before and after photography. K&K Biotech will select a limited number of individuals to use the serum at no charge in exchange for before and after photos.  Anyone who would like to apply can email the company for an application form at kk505skinproducts@gmail.com.”

Trujillo and Uilk are currently selling other skin products they have developed, including an all-natural cleanser, moisturizer and body serum. The new patented product will be unveiled in late 2019, with product launch to the general public in early 2020.  “We’ve hired a great marketing company, have our timeline locked down and are ready to shake up the beauty industry,” says Trujillo.

“We’re really excited about our nationwide launch, including sharing the news with our existing K&K Skin Products customers,” adds Uilk.  “They already love our products, so we’re confident they’ll jump at the chance to add our new patented serum to their beauty regimen.”  You can find more information on their current products at kkskinproducts.com.
